Our summer holiday in Benahavis

Every year since we had the twins, we’ve been to Benahavis for our summer holiday. I think it’s fair to say that the place has stolen a piece of our heart and is somewhere we will always return to. Benahavis is a small village, set slightly inland, about 15 minutes drive away from Puerto Banus, Marbella. The residents are a mix of ex-pats and locals and although it’s uncommercialised and quite traditional, you don’t need to worry if you don’t speak Spanish. The village is often referred to as the gastro capital of Spain and it’s easy to see why.…

A visit to see Santa in Lapland {…

A few weeks ago we visited Lapland. We felt the kids are a perfect age to really experience the magic. We booked the Enchanting Day Trip to Lapland with Canterbury Travel. We’d spent a bit of time researching and the reviews from those who had done Lapland with Canterbury Travel were really good. We also really like the fact that you were transferred to the activity area by sleigh rather than coach. We didn’t tell the kids in advance as we wanted to them to have a good nights sleep the night before and we’re more worried that if they were…

Our summer holiday {Benahavis 2017}

We first visited Benahavis in 2013, when the twins were just six months old. Prior to that we’d mostly been on long haul holidays, with the odd trip to Spain/Portugal every so often. To be honest, we weren’t massive fans on these places. Then we found Benahavis… Benahavis is in the Marbella region of the Costa Del Sol. A little village set in the mountains, about 15 minutes from the glam resort of Puerto Banus. Simon’s boss had recommended it and as we didn’t want to travel too far, with baby twins in tow, we thought we’d give it a…

Birthday selfies {My Captured Moment}

Yesterday we returned home from an amazing two week holiday in our favourite Spanish village, Benahavis. Whilst we were there it was my birthday. We had a lovely day on our favourite beach, which is quite small and isn’t quite as touristy as many of the others in the area. We built sandcastles, played in the sea and enjoyed lunch at the lovely little restaurant on the beach (I may’ve also indulged in a Prosecco!). It was a lovely way to spend my birthday. I haven’t had chance to collate all the pics from our holiday yet, but I promise to share…

Our summer holiday

We’ve recently returned from our summer holiday, which was lovely. We went to a place called Benahavis, which is near Marbella. It’s a beautiful spanish mountain village, which we first discovered three years ago. I’m planning on writing a blog post to tell you more about it as a place to visit, so keep your eyes peeled… Our arrival was quite eventful as we had forgotten the twins travel cots and the airline had lost one of their car seats! Luckily there was a Mothercare type place 1 mile from the airport so we were able to buy what we…

A trip to Portugal

Last week we went to Vilamoura, which is in Portugal. We went a couple of years ago for my Dad’s 70th birthday and had a great time, so when decided with my parents where they wanted to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary, Vilamoura seemed like the perfect choice. We set off on Good Friday, which was the day of my mum and dad’s anniversary. The flight was at 8.30am, so we had an early start. Simon and I were both tired as Oscar had been ill just as we were going to bed the night before, with what appeared to…

Paris

We’re just back from visiting Paris and Disneyland Paris, both were fab! Paris was lovely as always. Difficult with the double buggy, but the upside was that we walked lots and saw things we perhaps wouldn’t have seen. We had a lovely lunch near the Sacre Coeur – French Onion soup, Beef Bourgeon and Tart Tatin – yum!! Dining at the Sacre Coeur!    Disneyland Paris was good too. We stopped at here: http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/hotels/disneys-sequoia-lodge/ As most places, it had good and bade points: The good: Easy access to the Parks – only a 10 min walk It had…
