Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream {Review}

My skin really seems to suffer during the colder winter months, so recently I’ve been making a real effort to up my skincare regime. If I’m completely honest, I’m a bit lazy with the whole cleanse, tone and moisturise malarky and often don’t even take my make-up off at the end of the day (gasp!). However, now I’m creeping towards my mid-thirties I know that I need to up my game. I’ve always been a bit of a beauty junkie and particularly love a posh product. Recently I’ve really got into reading various beauty blogs and vlogs to find out…

Childrens’ body odour – breaking the taboo

When Oscar first started school, I was really shocked to find that at the end of the school day he often had a bit of a whiff about him. I always assumed that children didn’t really get body odour until they hit the puberty years, however, this isn’t the case and childrens’ body odour is now actually quite common. After speaking to a few friends with children of similar ages, it was clear Oscar wasn’t the only one and that school-age children, particularly boys, often sweat a lot and as a result can sometimes pong a bit! I suppose it…

Review: Exante

Since January, when I started my marathon training, I’ve been trying hard to eat better and include more protein in my diet. As well as to benefit my training, I was keen to shed a few pounds too! Now the marathon is over, I’m keen to continue the new habits and keep my diet healthy with lots of protein rich foods, so I was really excited to be contacted by Exante to see if I fancied trying out a few of their products – I never say no to food! The brand have previously marketed themselves as a diet product.…

Review: Bee Sting Facial at Hairven

As you may recall, in December, for the first time in over 15 years I had my hair done in a hair salon rather than at home. I decided to try out Hairven, a hair and beauty salon that is shaking up the Nottingham beauty scene. You can read more about my fantastic experience here. I really enjoyed my experience there, so as you can imagine I was delighted when Hairven invited me to sample their Bee Sting Facial. I’ve heard lots about this facial. It’s a bit of a celeb favourite and apparently Kate Middleton is a big fan!…

I love a multi-tasker!

I was recently asked to review Zoflora Disinfectant, and although it didn’t immediately strike me as a particular exciting product to review, I thought it would a good opportunity to try something new. I tend to stick to the same cleaning products, as I prefer to spend my time thinking and lusting after other more exciting purchases. My usual products tend to consist of bleach, an antibacterial spray, floor cleaner and anti-bacterial wipes. I was sent the Pink Grapefruit fragrance and was quiet surprised by how small the bottle once. Upon reading the instructions it was clear that a little…

Arla Big Milk – what we thought

I’d recently heard about Arla Big Milk and was delighted to receive some vouchers to give it a try. Arla Big Milk is whole cows’ milk, which has been enriched with the key vitamins and minerals that the Department of Health suggest are given daily to children aged from one to five – Vitamin A, D and iron. In the past I have bought vitamin supplements on the suggestion of our health visitor. However, I often forgot to give them to the kids and it ended up being just another thing to think about. I’m pretty certain that the bottle is probably hidden…

nkd waxing opening party

Last week I was kindly invited to attend the opening party of nkd waxing’s new premises in Nottingham. I love this type of thing and I’m not one to say no to free treatments and a goody bag! Plus I was allowed to take a guest, so me and my friend Lindsay decided to make a night of it! Prior to attending the launch, I had a quick peek at their website. I was really impressed at what I found. You won’t be surprised to find that they specialise in waxing. However, I thought the fab branding and clear passion to…

Soothing eczema with a little help from …

The twins have mild eczema and as a result I’m always on the hunt for bath products and creams that can help relieve it. Henry has it worse than Heidi. It tends to appear on his chest and he often has quite bad scratch marks, in the areas where he’s worst affected. Heidi’s tends to be around her armpits, behind her knees and on her face. I recently came across The Green People who produce a range of lovely organic products, which includes a range for babies and kids. We were recently sent the baby wash & shampoo and the mum…
