I’ve been a little quiet on here recently. Once again, life has been silly busy and despite my best intentions I haven’t got round to posting in a while. I have the biggest list of posts that I want to write and share, but it’s that crazy time of year, so blogging is just not happening at the minute! I thought it would be nice to do a little update though of what we’ve been up to recently (and help ease my guilt of the fact that I’ve been neglecting my blog of late) and this actually conincides well with the…

Life has been a little manic lately, so I haven’t posted on here in a few weeks. I’ve been keen to share with you details of what we got up to for Bonfire weekend, but I’ve really been struggling to get a bit of time to write this post. As I mentioned about a month ago, I’m keen to trying and start capturing our memories on video. To help us to do this, we’ve recently purchased a Go Pro. For Bonfire weekend, we’d planned to visit our friends’ Emily, Richard and their 18 month-old, Freddie, who live in Hemel Hempstead.…

For the past four weeks I’ve been following the Slimming World plan and as a result I’ve lost 2lbs. Although you can eat a lot on the plan, I’m just finding that for me it just isn’t working fast enough. I was following it really rigidly too, so the lack of results was really frustrating me! When I’m trying to lose weight I like to lose at least 1lb every week, otherwise I get discouraged and give up! With our forthcoming holiday looming, I decided I needed to make a change. My aim is to get to 9st 7lbs before…

A few months ago I set myself some blogging goals, which I shared on here. One of those goals was to start vlogging. Some of my favourite bloggers also do some great vlogs, which have really inspired me. Also, as my blog is about capturing our memories as a family, using video is a perfect way to ensure we do this. Back in May we went to Dubai. Oscar was keen to help me do some videoing and also wanted to do a bit of vlogging himself, so we had a little go. Once we got back I managed to get to…

Christmas is slowly creeping up on us. This year I’m trying to be particularly organised as we are going on holiday at the end of November. As well as trying to get my Christmas shopping done as early as possible, I’ve also been having a browse around for party dresses. During December we have a few Christmas parties to attend and they’re often quite glam dos – I love an excuse to get glammed up! I have recently started buying more of my clothes online as it is just so hard to find the time to have a good browse round the…

As a mum of three, including 3 year-old twins, I often get asked “How do you do it?”. If I’m brutally honest, somedays I really don’t know! Recently I’ve been finding this whole parenting lark hard. Really hard. All three of our children seem to waking up before 6am, particularly at weekends. Plus the twins, Heidi especially, are taking the whole ‘threenager’ phase to a whole new level. I’m absolutely exhausted! Last weekend was particularly tough. Here’s one example of many incidents that occurred during our two days of supposed quality family time… The kids were all awake at 5.30am on…

A couple of weeks ago I posted about my plans to start following the Slimming World plan. I’m now on week three, so thought it was time to post an update. The first week I found quite easy. I ate LOTS! I was, however, a little disappointed to find that I’d only lost 1lb. Once I’d had a think about how much I’d eaten that week, I realised that 1lb wasn’t actually too bad. I’m already a healthy weight and don’t have loads to lose, so I suppose I shouldn’t really complain. Apart from a little blip, last weekend, where…

A few of my friends currently rent their houses and the other day I was having a chat with them about how although they are happy with renting for now, in the long-term they really want to buy there own home, so are working towards that goal. I was giving them some advice and thought I’d share it on here too, just in case any of my readers currently rent, but are keen to buy. I am going to explain how your local estate agent can help you to do this. In particular, how they can assist you even if…

It’s October already? That must mean it’s practically Christmas, and once the shops have emptied the last of their pumpkins, broomsticks and fake spiders, it’s time to think about all that present buying you need to do. It doesn’t matter how many people you have to buy for, this always seems like a stressful task as you try to improve on last years present. For all those ladies out there who love to be organised, this is also the perfect time to pick up bargains for birthdays in future. But how do you decide on what to get people? How…

I’ve decided to start doing these roundup posts every other month now. Time seems to go so fast and I struggle to fit in writing them in once a month. The past couple of month’s have been pretty full on, so this post could take a while! I promise not to ramble on though. I’ll try and use photo’s rather than loads of writing. August The first week of August we were still in Benahavis on our lovely summer holiday. The day we returned we went out with friends to celebrate a 40th birthday. It was great catching up with…

Since coming back from our summer holiday at the beginning of August, I’ve really struggled to lose the weight that I put on. I seem to lose a pound, only to put it back on the week after, which is very frustrating! At the end of November, we are going on holiday for my Mum’s 70th birthday and I’m determined to lose 7lbs, so I’m back to my pre-summer holiday weight! I’ve always struggled to lose weight. I’m happiest with my weight when I weigh around 9st 7lbs, but getting and staying there is a bit of a constant battle.…
