Recently I’ve been trying to add a little more colour to my wardrobe, particularly as it’s summertime (despite what the varying weather suggests!).
When I was approached by JD Williams to try a dress from their summer collection, I thought it was an ideal opportunity to try something nice and bright.
Browsing through the collection, I was immediately drawn to this red dress. I’m a huge fan of v-necks as they are super flattering and I thought this style would suit my shape. I loved the bright, vibrant colour too!
I originally ordered the dress in a size 12, but it was huge so I re-ordered in 10 (yippee!). The 10 fits better, but is still a tad too big, so do keep that in mind when ordering. The slightly bigger fit is perfect for the last couple of days of your holiday, when you’ve perhaps over indulged at the buffet or on the cocktails. The dress hides a multitude of sins!
I really love the colour of the dress and the v-neck, which, as expected, is very flattering.
I’ve worn it a few times on holiday. The slightly loose fit makes it perfect for warm weather. I’ve worn it with black strappy heels and also beige wedges, as shown in the picture. It would also go well with some lovely sparkly flat sandals.
It also looks perfect with aviator sunglasses to give it a modern edge.
I’m also hoping that I might also be able to wear it in Autumn, paired with some black tights, a black long sleeved top underneath, ankle boots and a classic leather jacket. I’ll give it a try in a few months and let you know how it looks.
I’m really pleased with the dress. It’s very versatile, flattering and adds the perfect injection of colour to my summer wardrobe. It’s also very reasonable at only £32.00!

Thanks Jess! This is the first outfit type post I’ve done and I must admit I felt a little self-conscious posing for the pics! I do love the colour though, it’s a new one for me too x
Looks really lovely on you! And great idea to layer it up in the autumn/winter, especially as it is roomy. I guess you could add a belt too? Hopefully we’ll get more sun this summer too though for it as is. (Where has it gone?!)
