Life lately

I’ve been a bit rubbish on the blogging front the past couple of months. The start of a new school year always seems to be so manic, that I’ve just struggled to fit in a bit of time for blogging. I thought it’s probably worth sharing a bit of an update of what we’ve been up to since we last blogged – a bit of a life lately type round up. I’m also conscious that I haven’t done a post about our summer hol, but am aiming to do it soon. So, what have we been up to lately..? Well,…

Our February

It’s that time again where I do a little round up of our month, so that I capture the key things we got up to. Here’s our February. Early in the month it was the twins’ birthday, so we celebrated them turning 6 with a paint a pot party for some of their school friends. They were so lucky to receive so many lovely gifts. In the evening we took them to a local Indian restaurant with my parents. If you’ve followed my blog before you’ll know that this is a bit of a tradition of ours. The staff at…

January 2019

Since I’ve changed the direction of our blog to focus more on travel I’ve realised that I’m perhaps not capturing some of our important memories and moments, so I’m going to attempt to do a monthly roundup, so that nothing gets missed or forgotten about. Here’s what we got up to in January. We began our January in Tenerife, which was the perfect way to begin the year. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which was amazing. You can read all about our stay here. Oscar’s birthday The day after we got back from our trip it was Oscar’s…

December 2017 (better late than never!)

Back in February I set myself a goal to blog at least once a week, since then I haven’t blogged once. I suppose I kinda kept thinking “what’s the point?!”. Recently I’ve been keen to get back to blogging and ensuring that I’m capturing our moments. My motivation for blogging seems to change on a weekly basis. One minute it’s about sharing my tips and reviews, the next it’s to get as many subscribers as possible in the bid to become a pro blogger. However, having some time away has allowed me to really reflect on the reason why I…

2018 goals

It’s 2018 – Happy New Year everyone! I always get reflective at this time of year and like to kick-off the year with a few goals. I won’t call them resolutions, they’re more things I want to work towards and start doing more of. I always think that actually spending a bit of time getting them written downs helps to clarify things and makes me much more focused. So, here goes – these are my goals/aims for 2018. Blog at least once a week and be more open and honest When life gets busy (always!), my blog is one of…

Avoiding the winter blues

It’s fair to say I’m not really a winter person. I hate the dark mornings and nights, I hate the cold, grey days and I hate the way central heating gives me a sore throat and makes my skin dry. However, this year I’m taking matters into my own hands and taking some steps to try and avoid those horrid winter blues. Here’s some of the things I’m doing (or at least trying to) to avoid the winter blues: Switching up my exercise My exercise routine mainly consists of running. I try to run three times a week, but getting…

Capturing our moments {July – September}

I’ve been a bit rubbish at keeping the blog up-to-date recently. With the twins starting school, a few trips away, training for a half marathon, work and the usual business of life, something has to give. I’m concious that I want to ensure I capture what we’ve been up to and this roundup is a great way to ensure I do that. So, what have we been up to… July In July we went on a little trip to Liverpool to celebrate Simon’s Dad’s birthday. We left the kids with my parents and enjoyed a child-free weekend, which involved a…

Capturing our moments {Feb – June}

I knew it had been a while since I’d written one of these posts, but when I looked back and saw the last one was written in Feb, I was a bit gobsmacked! Just where has the time gone? The main aim of these posts is to try and capture all the little things that we’ve done every couple of months, so to ensure we’ve captured everything, I’m going to try and cram everything we’ve been up to since Feb into this post (it may be a long one – apologies). The twin’s 4th birthday I can’t actually believe I…

Capturing our moments {December and January}

It feels like ages since I’ve written one of these posts, in fact it’s been far too long since my last post (must try harder)! We’ve had a pretty busy couple of months. As always, December was manic. January was thankfully less busy. To save lots of waffle in these posts, I’ve decided to make them mainly photo based, with just a little overview. So, here’s what we’ve been up to. December Christmas parties We both go to Simon’s, which is normally a great ‘do’, this year was as good as ever. Mine was also pretty good and was a…

Reflecting on 2016

Although I’m not that into making new year resolutions, as the new year beckons I always like to take a bit of time to reflect on the year gone by. I thought I’d share my reflections with you in my final post of 2016. 2016 has been a pretty good year! We’ve had some brilliant holidays (Norfolk, Dubai, Benahavis and a caribbean Disney Cruise!), I ran the London Marathon (still feels like a dream!), my great nephew was born and I’ve found myself a new job, which I start in the new year. In terms of blogging, I attended my first…

Capturing our moments {October & November}

I’ve been a little quiet on here recently. Once again, life has been silly busy and despite my best intentions I haven’t got round to posting in a while. I have the biggest list of posts that I want to write and share, but it’s that crazy time of year, so blogging is just not happening at the minute! I thought it would be nice to do a little update though of what we’ve been up to recently (and help ease my guilt of the fact that I’ve been neglecting my blog of late) and this actually conincides well with the…
