Feeling a bit grey?

Collaborative post. Anyone who is anyone nowadays is turning to grey to get their homes looking the way they want. Pinterest is full of grey-look living rooms, and home interior shops across the country now stock grey decor galore. We can’t get enough, and, for the most part, it’s fair to say that grey does look amazing. In fact, we have used in lots in our house. The trouble is that grey can, of course, look a little…well, grey. If you’d told us this trend was going to take over in the past, we would’ve all assumed it would be…

Interior and exterior design ideas to consider …

Renovating a household is no easy task. You might have some ideas floating around in your head. Maybe you’ve been picturing how you’d redo your bathroom for years. But it’s hard to put all of those ideas together to form a coherent picture. You have to think about how to achieve your intended projects in the most time-effective and cost-effective manner. After all, you’re probably limited to a particular budget, and you’re probably only going to be able to make serious progress when you’re off work at the weekend. It’s time to put together a plan. If you need any…

Design an easy to clean kitchen

If there is one room in any home that can often be a nightmare to clean and keep tidy, it has to be the kitchen. It is such a busy room that families will often be using, so there is no wonder that so much clutter builds up over time. Not only that, though, but as it will be a big area for food prep and cooking, you can be sure that there will also be crumbs and spillages that need to be dealt with! Thankfully, though, your kitchen doesn’t always have to be a struggle to keep clean. Here…

Prints, pins and pretty little things

I really love motivational quotes and prints. I particularly like having them on display in the kids bedrooms and play rooms. A motivational print often is a nice little reminder or pick me up when you’re having ‘one of those days’. I also think it’s good for kids to be surrounded by positive messages. One company who produce some amazing prints (and stationery) is the Old English Co. I particularly love these prints of theirs: They’ve also recently launched some really cute enamel pins, which make perfect gifts. Particularly for friends who might be going through a tough time or are…

Renovating our main bathroom

We have plenty of tiles around our house, especially in our recent extension, I love them – whether they’re floor tiles or wall tiles! In my eyes, tiles give you so much freedom to accessorise around, as well as being stylish themselves they’re versatile for pairing up with different furnishings. When we extended our house we ended up renovating most of the existing rooms too. However, one room we didn’t do was the main bathroom.  Now that everywhere else is how we want it, I’m hoping in the next year or so that we’ll be able to afford to update this…

A space themed boy’s bedroom

Back in January, we made the big move to put the twins in seperate bedrooms. We were finding that one would often wake the other one up and we just knew that it was the right time. Henry had said that he wanted a space themed bedroom after he saw some bedding he liked when we were out shopping, so I set about creating him his own special room. The room was part of the extension we had a couple of years ago, so was basically a blank canvas. The walls were already painted white and we’d chosen a neutral…

My favourite floor trends

It’s been quite a long time since I wrote an interior related post and lately I’ve been obsessed with looking at what’s hot on the flooring front! Now don’t get me wrong, I love the flooring that is down in my house but a girl can dream, right? One of the most popular trends at the moment and a personal favourite of mine is natural wood. This is also known as ‘Rustic’ flooring and it has seen a massive increase in popularity over the last couple of years, which certainly shows no signs of slowing down and isn’t really a…

Children’s duvet covers for girls

In February, we decorated our spare room for Henry, so that the twins could each have their own bedroom. And although he seems to float between his new room, Oscar’s room and the room he used to share with Heidi, I think it’s time to update their old room to create a more girly-themed space for Heidi. I’m really excited about decorating Heidi’s room as it the first time I’ve done a girl’s ‘bedroom. I’ve been doing lots of planning and pinning on Pinterest (check out my board here)! And although I haven’t started ordering anything yet, I’ve been doing…

Sprucing up our kitchen with new plants

I love our kitchen, which was massively extended a couple of years ago (you can read all about it and see a few pics here). I also really love having fresh flowers in our kitchen. Either on the island or on the dining table. However, it’s not alway practical to buy fresh flowers every week – I’m not that organised and I think hubby would call them an unnecessary luxury! So, recently I’ve been looking for an alternative, and on our recent visit to the Hilton Deansgate in Manchester, I found the perfect solution – some funky plants, which were…

Bedroom makeover – the big reveal

A few months ago I wrote a post, which talked about my plans for revamping our bedroom and shared my inspirations. We finally finished decorating and revamping our bedroom a few months ago and I’ve been desperate to share the final product with you all. Firstly, as much as I don’t want to, it’s probably useful if I share with you the before photo’s. Looking back at these, I can’t believe how dull, drab and cramped our bedroom was; no wonder I never liked it! All the bedrooms in our house are pretty small, so having a wardrobe and drawers…
