Our 2019 travel plans

2019 travel plans

As 2018 draws to a close its time to start thinking about where we want to explore in the year ahead, in fact planning our holidays, helps me to get through winter! I thought I’d share our 2019 travel plans on here.

Tenerife

Technically this one commences in 2018, but as it also falls in 2019, I thought I should include it. We’re heading to Tenerife on 29th Dec for a week and I can’t wait. The last couple of months have been a bit stressful with one thing and another. Plus, I always find the run up to Christmas a bit bonkers, so I’m so looking forward to a bit of winter sun and the chance to relax and unwind a bit! We’re staying at the Hard Rock Tenerife, which looks amazing! I’ll be sure to share our experience on here.

Las Vegas and LA

My niece is getting married in May in Last Vegas, so we’ve decided to extend our trip and take advantage of being relatively close to LA. We’re planning on visiting Disney, the California beaches, Hollywood and Santa Monica. If anyone has any tips, please let us know.

Benahavis

We’ve decided to spend a couple of weeks in the summer back at one of our favourite places, Benahavis near Marbella in Spain. We’ve been every year since the twins were born and we love it. It almost feels like our second home. You can read about our previous summers in Benahavis here and here.

October – tbc

The kids are moving to a two week half term in October as they’ll be having one week less in the summer. We’re still mulling over where we want to go. We’re thinking possibly a cruise.

Other trips

I’m keen to try and make the most of our weekends this year, so would love to try and do a trip to London with the kids, a trip to Center Parcs and also explore some other cities.

Hubby and I also try and get away on our own to celebrate our wedding anniversary in August. For 2019, I quite fancy staying in Richmond near London. It will be nice to walk along the Thames, have a mooch round the posh boutiques, drink cocktails and maybe have dinner at The Ivy, which open there earlier in this year.

Where are you heading in 2019?

I like the idea of making most of the weekends, short trips somewhere, specially London.

I work part time, so it’s a case of being creative with my annual leave 🙂 Definitely keen to get a few short trips in this year! x

Seriously, Hollywood genuinely isn’t all that nice. There is a 200m strip where the Chinese Theatre is and a few shops/bars but after that we really didn’t like it and sadly we had 3 days there. Watch the kids carefully. Venice Beach is a must see as it’s so quirky and vibrant and the beach is stunning, but again, watch the kids carefully. A helicopter trip over Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon is fantastic too.

We’ll probably only briefing visit Hollywood. I prefer driving round the hills and seeing all the star’s houses. We’re stopping at Santa Monica for a few nights, so will definitely visit Venice Beach. We’ve done a helicopter above the strip, but think I’m too scared to do one over the Gand Canyon! Hope you’re good x
