Teeth!

So, after a few days of Henry moaning, dribbling and waking in the middle of the night, Heidi’s first tooth has made an appearance! We didn’t even notice she was teething. Henry’s teeth are still yet to make an appearance! Hopefully they’ll pop through soon and we’ll get some sleep again! x

We're getting there

We’re finally getting there with the weaning! The twins are on three meals a day and seem to love food. We’ve been doing a mix of finger foods and purées. I tend to do more finger food when out and about, things like cream cheese sandwiches, cucumber sticks and bits of bread and veg from our plates. We even went to Portugal last week and it wasn’t too tricky. We had a villa, so made sandwiches when we were going out and used jars (not something i normally do, but all of us deserve a break on hol) and easy…

Baby led weaning and twins

We’re a few weeks into our weaning adventure and it’s been interesting, messy and at times, hard work (the double cleaning and washing is a nightmare)! Been doing a combination of baby led (blw) and purées. I intended to do more blw but I’m scared of the choking! So far we’ve had the following finger foods: Toast Banana Avocado (not popular) Melon (scary when Heidi coughed up a huge chunk 2 hours later!) Rusks Sweet potato Broccoli Cauliflower Courgette At the moment it feels we’ve got such a long way to go… x

Weaning – the journey begins

We began weaning last Monday (15th July). It was the day after we returned from Spain (post to follow) and both twins had shown lots of interest in food, so we decided it was time. I’ve included a photo! So far they’ve had: Baby rice Carrot Banana Banana porridge Sweet potato Banana and sweet potato (for Heidi) have been the most popular. Henry is very good at taking food from a spoon, whilst Heidi just wants to feed herself!! Keen to go more baby led once they reach 6 months, to hopefully make weaning as easy as possible, so just…

It's been a while…

Well as the title says, it’s been a while! H & H are now 19 weeks and growing so fast (Henry is now 13lb 8oz and Heidi 13lb 5oz), Henry can now roll and they are finally sleeping better! Heidi goes from 7pm ish to 7am ish. Henry is still a little hit and miss, we always feed him at 10pm, sometimes he wakes once, but if we’re lucky he’ll go till 6/7ish! Getting more sleep makes a huge difference! Life as a mum of 3 is certainly hectic, but we’ve all adjusted well. Oscar loves his two siblings and…

Sleep

Just when I’m feeling totally sleep deprived and like we’re getting nowhere, Heidi has just done some fab sleeping, 7.30pm until 3am! Tried to dream feed at 10pm but she wasn’t interested. It may be a one off but at least we’re going in the right direction. Now just need to get Henry doing the same…

The first few weeks

The twins are now 4 weeks old and so far so good! The time is going so fast. Trying to capture it all is hard as I am so busy feeding, sterilising and washing! My mum has been fab, coming round everyday to help with cores and feeding. Trying to feed the babies together and it normally works, although a couple of times this week it hasn’t worked that way at night!! It’s hard to know what to do, do you wake the sleeping twin or leave them to sleep to encourage good sleeping habits?!? I’ve tried both and leaving…

Final scan

Had our final scan yesterday and both babies estimated at 5lb 8oz, no wonder I feel so heavy!! Finally been given a date for induction Fri 1 Feb – hurrah! Can’t wait to meet them both and also get my body back! Feel so heavy and it hurts when the babies move as it’s clearly cramped in there for them. Looking forward to those first cuddles 🙂 Spending this weekend relaxing and eating out. Our last weekend as a threesome! J x
