Things I’m loving lately – November

I didn’t manage to get chance to do a ‘Things I’m loving lately post’ last month, but I do really enjoy doing them, so here’s my roundup of some of the things I’ve been loving this month… Beauty  Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate I’ve been using this for a few months now, but now the cold weather has arrived I’m finding it really beneficial. I use it at night instead of a moisturiser. It feels amazing on and smells amazing too. When I wake it the morning my skin feels really smooth. My skin is normally a bit dry in the…

Caputuring the special moments – October

October has been a crazy month for us, here’s what we’ve been up to: I got the ‘You’re In’ magazine for the London Marathon, which has coincided with a foot injury from the recent half marathon I did (it’s finally starting to feel better!). So I’ve wanted to exercise but had to take it is easy on the running front. Instead I’ve been doing some spinning and swimming. At the beginning of the month we attended the gala dinner for our friends charity, Forever Stars. Their little girl, Emily, was born sleeping in Dec 2013 and ever since they’ve been…

September – Capturing the special moments

I wrote this post a couple of weeks ago, but somehow just never managed to get round to posting it. I know it’s now mid-October (timing is going too fast!), but I’m still sharing so that I have a record to look back on. September was a pretty quiet month for us. Simon decided to take a month off drinking alcohol and I was in training for my half marathon. Here’s a little round up of what we got up to. At the beginning of September it was my Dad’s birthday, so we went out for a meal to celebrate.…

My life hacks

Like most busy mums, I’m keen to make our life and everyday routine as smooth and chaos-free as possible. I was recently contacted by www.first-utility.com who are running a campaign to find the best life hacks. They wanted to know my top life hacks, which got me thinking about they key things I do to make life a little easier. I thought I’d also share with you: Making healthy smoothies with the kids in the morning, which means they are having spinach for breakfast without even realising! My 14kg washing machine – a life saver! Painting my nails in the…

Things I’m loving lately – September

I’ve been meaning to join in with this monthly roundup, created by Emma at Little Wood Life, for a while now. However, with settling into my new job and training for my half marathon, my blog has taken a back seat for a while. But, now my half marathon has been run (phew!) and work is going well, I’m hoping to be able to post more frequently. At the end of every month I’m planning to do a little round up of all the things I’ve been loving that month. So, without further ado, here’s September’s… Beauty As a working…

Capturing the special moments – July/August

Wow, it’s been a hectic couple of months! What with summer holidays, birthdays,  changing jobs and getting ready to get back in the routine as Oscar goes back to school, there’s been little time for blogging! This post covers July and August. We were on holiday in August when I normally write this post and last week was a little hectic with getting ready to go back to school. So here goes… July At the beginning of July I was offered a new job, which you can read about here, so early in the month I handed in my notice,…

Goodbyes

We’ve been on our summer holidays for the last couple of weeks so it’s been pretty quiet on here.We had a lovely time, but I’ll tell you more about that later… You may have read on the blog that I’ve got a new job, well this week is the final week in my current role, so there’s been lots of handing over and saying goodbye. I really hate goodbyes. I work with some great people and the firm I work for is brilliant, so leaving is hard. However, I’ve not been motivated and inspired by my role for about a year now, so I…

Capturing the special moments – June

June has been a good month for us. It’s also been very busy too! Simon and I celebrated being together for 13 years, by enjoying a yummy meal at a BBQ place we’ve been wanting to try for a while. The twins started pre school and they seem to be doing ok. Heidi used to cry when they first started (which set Henry off too), but she seems to be doing better now that they’ve been going for a few weeks. The only pic they’d let me take on the morning they started pre school! We had a brilliant night…

Worrying about your children – does it ever …

Since I got pregnant, with Oscar, in May 2009, I’ve done so much worrying about him. At first I worried about something going wrong with the pregnancy. At our 20 week scan, we were told that his kidneys were dilated, so until the next scan I worried about that (he was fine). Then I worried about something happening in the run up to the birth (what if I slip in the ice or fall down the stairs?!). Then I worried during the actual birth (which was very stressful). When Oscar was born I then worried about SIDS and something happening to him.…

Capturing the special moments – May

May has been a month of ups and downs. It began really well with a bank holiday and a trip to visit our friend’s. We had a lovely overnight stay with them and it was lovely to spend time with their new baby. The children were really well behaved, which is always a bonus. It also meant we could get a photo of us all, which is a rarity.   However, on our way home from our lovely stay we realised that Oscar’s beloved Bunny was missing. Unfortunately he’s still not been found, but Oscar has a new Bunny, which…

The day I got mugged!

On Wednesday, I headed to London to attend a social media course through work. I’d been really looking forward to attending the course and was hoping to learn some new tips. The course was due to be hold at a swanky global law firm on Fleet Street, so I was also looking forward to having a nosey at their offices! I was due to arrive at the course at 8.45am for a 9am start, so it meant I had to catch an early train from one of my local train stations. It was a lovely bright morning, so the early…
